Bridgeport Covered Bridge
Penn Valley, CA - Bridgeport (Nyes Crossing) Covered Bridge was built in 1862 by David Isaac John Wood with lumber from his mill in Sierra County, this bridge was part of the Virginia Turnpike Company Toll Road which served the northern mines and the busy Nevada Comstock Lode. Utilizing a combination truss and arch construction, it is one of the oldest housed spans in the West and the longest single span, wooden-covered bridge in the United States.

on May 5, 2019You found a great POV for capturing nearly the full span. Your map coordinates place you standing in the (South Yuba) river when you took this, and I guess I can believe it from the context of the shot. I suppose that late in the year, the flow in the river is much reduced from its maximum, so "in" the river might mean just on the exposed rocky river bed.
